Our Story
The Altar Piercing and Tattoo Studio is the result of a lifelong commitment to the art, craft, and culture of body modification.
With over 45 years of experience, our founder has been a driving force in shaping the piercing and tattoo industry — building businesses, creating careers, and inspiring generations of artists.

Getting his start in New Orleans, he quickly made a name for himself through talent, vision, and relentless dedication. What began as a single shop soon expanded into a network of studios across the country, setting a new standard for professionalism, safety, and artistic excellence.
Over the decades, he has built dozens of successful studios, trained hundreds of talented artists and piercers, and created real opportunities for newcomers to step into their full potential. He was also instrumental in the legalization of tattoo and piercing shops in the state of Vermont, helping to lay the groundwork for a safer, more respected industry — and opening the doors for countless artists to practice their craft legally and proudly.
